Tecnomar

The Company

With the acquisition of the Bruno Benedetti Shipyard in 1986, the Tecnomar passion for prestigious offshore vessels was born. Although the shipyard was already famous for the elegance and high performance of its models, the new owners wasted no time in making their own mark with the Tecnomar marquee. The new owners quickly enriched the model line-up, adding new 40 and 35 foot off shore craft with even better performance to the range. In the early 1990’s Tecnomar began to establish its own style with the TB series, a starting point for the future of the brand.
The launching of the TB 58, mother of the present 20 meter Madras and Velvet, is a further step ahead, with the link between performance and comfort underpinning Tecnomar’s whole design and build ethos. Technology and high quality design become an over-riding factor in the exhilarating overall style. Later in the 1990s Tecnomar created the first, made-to-order displacement vessels in steel, and in so doing emerged from the classic production schemes; proving its great versatility and ability to totally personalise its vessels.
In 2001, in order to meet the pressing demands of the market, the Viareggio shipyard took a leap forward in quality. The desire to design on a large scale became part of the company’s DNA, and the Madras and the Velvet 25 and 26 meters were fitting progeny. The Madras and Velvet represented the first ‘Open’ motor yachts with a hard top and a sax board style flying bridge.
The success of the models was immediate and Tecnomar became a benchmark brand; the ideal reference point for those who wish to enjoy the oceans in luxury. In order to guarantee quality and a wide range of diversified services, the decision was taken to transformed the business into a group. Through the satellite firms Tecnopower, Tecnoconsulting and Canvas, the Tecnomar group began to offer assistance to its customers in terms of design and engineering, fabrics procurement and consultancy.
In 2003, the production division at Viareggio started its collaboration with that of the unit of M assa Carrara. It is here, in the brand new 10,000 sq. mt. facility that Tecnomar designs and builds the innovative Velvet 35 and the Nadara 35 Fly, the present flagships of the range.

Recognising the pleasure of owning something unique, and an owner’s desire for their craft to reflect their own personality, Tecnomar owners can choose not only the furnishing, the fabrics and other fixtures and fittings; but can also personalise the layout and division of their craft’s interior.
Each Tecnomar vessel is a unique creation, made-to-measure following the requirements of the owner. Once a vessel has been chosen, the furnishings, fabrics, woods and even the division of the interiors is custom designed. Tecnomar’s project staff is always available to offer consultation and to work, should it be required, with the owner’s architect.
